How do I use this interactive Dashboard?
Set the sliders for change magnitude, urgency, complexity, stakeholder alignment, and the share of technical work; then refine the case with four dropdowns: change type (process, policy, technology, culture), stakeholder posture (supportive, neutral, resistant), public scrutiny (low to high), and risk profile (low to high). These choices shape the effective inputs that drive the model. Move to Capacity and enter the conditions that raise or lower a team’s ability to handle pressure: psychological safety, slack, leadership bandwidth, leader over-functioning, and volatility. Use the open fields to capture local facts. The staffing gap percentage lowers adequate slack, and morale blends with the safety slider to set adequate safety. Recent incidents raise urgency. In Zone & Horizon, set the lower and upper boundaries for your team’s tolerance and choose a projection length from six to thirty-six weeks. Open Results to see what the tool measures and how it responds: a heat score from 0 to 100 that represents system pressure after all adjustments, a zone badge that places the situation in Too Low, Productive Zone, or Too High, a work type badge that indicates mostly technical, mixed, or mostly adaptive work, and a risk badge that flags patterns like low safety with misalignment or high volatility with thin slack. The chart displays week-by-week heat with colored bands for the zones and a tooltip for exact values; the action list provides next steps, such as holding steady and regulating distress, returning to work, or lowering heat to restore thinking. Save or load a scenario, print a one-pager, export a PNG of the chart for slides, or export JSON to archive inputs, notes, and outputs for later comparison and review.

Heat score is a simple weighted model scaled to 0–100 and clamped to the zone bounds you set.
heat_raw = 0.25*change +
0.20*(10 - alignment) +
0.20*urgency +
0.20*complexity
- 0.15*psych_safety
- 0.10*slack
- 0.10*bandwidth
heat_score = clamp( round( heat_raw * 10 ), 0, 100 )
Work type badge reflects the % technical work slider. Canvas shows a 12-week projection: baseline heat and simple volatility to illustrate likely swings around the current score. No external libraries are used.
