The dashboard is a practical, executive-facing operations tool designed to help hospital leaders translate routine throughput and capacity signals into a single, interpretable weekly risk picture. It consolidates key indicators that typically drive congestion, such as ED arrivals and admits, boarding volume, decision-to-bed delay, med-surg and ICU occupancy, discharge-by-noon performance, EVS bed-turn backlog, staffing coverage, and ancillary turnaround, then converts them into a 0–100 flow risk score with clear Low, Moderate, and High bands. To use it in a weekly flow huddle, start by entering (or updating) the most current values in the Inputs panel, then read the output in three steps: first, confirm the overall score and band to establish urgency; second, use the Flow Map stage scores to localize where strain is forming (ED delay, inpatient congestion, bed readiness, staffing and support); third, review the Top Drivers list to see which factors contribute the largest share of the score right now and how they shifted compared to the last saved period. During the huddle, click Add period to capture a snapshot and build a trend line over time, then use Export CSV for quick sharing and spreadsheet follow-up, or Export JSON to preserve full state for later reloading. For leadership communication, use the exports to support a short operational brief that answers: “How strained are we, what is driving it, what changed since last week, and where do we intervene first,” while keeping the tool positioned as decision support for operations rather than clinical guidance.
